Professionals with specific
environmental and industry expertise are appointed as assessors for the
Australian Ecolabel Program by the Management Committee of Good
Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) Ltd .
Applicants are appointed
after a review of qualifications, previous experience and an interview
against a core set of competence criteria. The current assessor
register extends to cover most major city and regional areas with a wide
range of industry specific expertise.
An appointment to the
assessors register does not entitle you to be a member of the GECA which has a restricted
membership.
The
Australian Ecolabel Program classifies approved assessors as:
- Assessors
registered by the GECA as
environmental professionals that hold expertise relevant for an
assessment and which have undertaken training in the procedures of the
Australian Ecolabel Program, or
- Environmental
auditors accredited
with the Quality
Society of Australasia;
or
- Assessors
registered with the Environmental Choice New Zealand Trust.
