INDIVIDUAL APPLICATIONS WILL RECEIVE A SPECIFIC CERTIFICATION COST BREAKDOWN
COSTS ARE PREDOMINANTLY DEPENDANT UPON ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT COMPLEXITY |
Application Fee: $400
+ GST
This fee is payable at the time of application for a specific product or site. It is a one-off fee and is to be sent with the application kit filled out. The application is assessed and the applicant receives a tentative preliminary report (non-definitive) as to whether the product is likely to pass the certification, costs and the anticipated management plan needed to certify the product. The purpose of the application is to asses whether the product has some obvious characteristics which will not meet the required performance levels.
The management plan is presented after discussions with the applicant and a firm price is presented to the applicant for assessment. In addition a service agreement is presented outlining the intended services to the applicant. |
Verification Components: $(VARIABLE)
+ GST
Once the management plan is accepted and a service agreement is confirmed the assessment is formally initiated. The project plan will detail the costs involved for different components of service. The below figures are an indication of what an applicant could expect. Generally our policy is to ensure that even small and cottage industries have an equitable opportunity at certifying their products and services and as a result the costs associated with the assessment are weighted against size of operation and complexity of product.
The costs of the assessment phase of the certification will vary based on the type of product and the complexity of the verification plans. Price
is clearly detailed into component parts at the offer of contract and the intended project plan. The costs for applicants associated with this phase are purely determined by our costs in fees to the assessor for undertaking the certification and our administrative requirements for quality assurance. There is no profits incorporated in the price of the evaluation. |

One of the prime aims of this voluntary labelling scheme is to allow for consumer preference to influence market direction by providing clear and scientifically based information about the environmental performance of products and services. The eco-labelling body further aims to provide this service for all market participants whether they be multi-national or home based businesses. Hence certification prices are reflective of the different capacities of market participants. If price is a genuine barrier to independent certification we will assess applications on a case by case basis for discounts when genuine requests are made. |
